History
Faculty of Tourism was founded by the №112 decree of 15th October 2010 of the Academic Council and №01 decree of October 20, 2010 of the Council of Representatives of the Shota Rustaveli State University, which stipulated “to separate academic program of tourism from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Business and Law (BA Tourism and MA Tourism Management) at RSU and to establish a new Faculty of Tourism”.
Our mission is to upgrade travel services through education to promote the establishment of international standards.
Faculty of Tourism is a dedicated educational center to prepare highly qualified specialists, who have the appropriate knowledge, skills and competencies and are competitive on both domestic and international tourism services market.
Faculty of Tourism of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is a vibrant educational, scientific and administrative unit, which adheres to the policy of academic freedom and institutional autonomy in terms of design and implementing of higher education at all three levels (Bachelor and Master) and professional educational programs and scientific research in tourism business administration.
The academic staff of the Faculty is comprised of 3 professors, 4 associate professors, 7 assistant professors and 1 assistant, contracted through the competition, as well as visiting professors and international experts take part in the program implementation.
Innovative educational project:
Travel agency UNItour operates at the Faculty of Tourism to develop hand-on skills of students.
