History

The Library of BSU

The history of the Library of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University takes its roots from the date of the establishment of the university and counts 85 years. Together with the modern scientific, literary and popular works, the library stores the old scientific and historical works published in 1815-1917. Today the library fund comprises more than 300 types of library documents. Besides, the Library of BSU provides the reader with various scientific and educational periodicals as well as international data bases.

The library has one central library, two faculty libraries and one scientific-research library. Internal Electronic Library enables effective utilization of the teaching/learning materials with the full access to the complete package of the literature. 

The Electronic Catalogue of the Library Documents was established to make the search engine work more efficiently. In order to meet the readers’ interest the Department of the Electronic Resources works in the “Open Biblio”, the Integrated Management System of the Library what ensures reflection of the relevant data. We have access to the International Scientific Data Bases such as:  EBSCO Publishing, Cambridge University Press, Royal Society Journals Collection, BioOne.
