The Theatron – a group of young actors at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was one of the students’ troupes participating in the ‘Two Nights in May’, an International Student Theatre Festival, which passed in the city of Elgava, Latvia. A week of excellent performers and superb performances on 25-30th May was full of excitement. The Theatron from BSU invited the spectators to the French piece ‘Family Idyll” (directed by Roin Dvali and Giorgi Pirtskalashvili), a performance, which turned into the most wonderful success story – the troupe from BSU was awarded several of the Festival Prizes.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University hosted Erasmus Academic and Administrative Staff Exchange project events on 29 May – 2 June; The international week participants were delegates from the Angel Kanchev University, Ruse, Bulgaria, and Bialystok Technological University, Poland. The delegates introduced themselves to the educational programs and the academic life of BSU as well as to the Georgian Culture.
Members of the delegation, Desislava Atanasova, Plamenka Kristova, Kritina Emelianova, Milena Dimitrova Popova, Tsvetlana Atanasova Shenkova, Kristina Emelianova and Administrative staff Eva Petrova Parvanova and Kristina Mirosvska gave public lectures for the students of social and political sciences. The delegates also presented their universities.
The participants of the eventful international week have agreed on the implementation of the joint academic and scientific projects, involvement of various academic fields into the exchange programs, and development of the joint BA and MA educational programs.

Faculty of Tourism at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University is a participant of the 10th anniversary international exposition of ‘Tourism and Hotel Equipment’. The Students and the Professors will present to the visitors the educational programs, the information about the study at BSU, and the student life. The three day’s exposition includes exhibits from 80 companies from 7 countries.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University held a joint international scientific conference devoted to the 25th anniversary of Georgia-Ukraine diplomatic relations. ‘Ukraine and Georgia, Diplomatic Relations, International Ties, Culture Diplomacy’ featured discussions on the urgent issues at the sessions of three panels during two days. The scholars and diplomats from Georgia, Ukraine, Poland, and Romania presented 40 papers to the academic audience.

Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University celebrated European Days with several events. The Students of the Social and Political Studies held a Flashmob imitating the visa free border crossing. Assistant Professor Lasha Bazhunaishvili and Gela Iremadze delivered public lectures on the topic European Unification Idea and Contemporary Challenges of European Union.
The Faculty of Humanities, including the departments of the Slavic Studies, Georgian Philology, English, French and German Philologies, arranged information corners about Europe. The other European information corners were represented by the BSU Department of Strategic Development and International Relations, the NATO and the EU Information Center and the Center for International Education`s Office of Batumi. The verse reading performance "We read Shakespeare" invited both students and professors to read sonnets by Shakespeare in European Languages.
